«The Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan: The Foundation of a New Renaissance»

Ani Avetisyan, who works as an academic staff member at the Department of Oriental Studies in Matenadaran and specializes in Turkology and Ottoman studies, was invited to participate in the "7th International Congress" («The Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan: The Foundation of a New Renaissance») in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

Approximately 350 renowned scientists, codicologists, heads of museum and academic institutes, professors, film and media representatives, geologists, and others attended the congress.

On the first day of the congress, Ani Avetisyan presented a report titled "Chagatai Manuscripts of Matenadaran" in the "Handwritten Masterpieces of the Turkic World" section.

For the first time, the report showcased some handwritten samples of valuable examples of the Chagatai language, a part of the Turkic-Uzbek literary heritage, kept at Matenadaran. The presentation focused on the content of the manuscripts, details of their writing, and a comparative analysis of the texts for the scientific audience.

The report was highly evaluated as academic, comprehensive and news-containing.

At the end of the congress, Ani Avetisyan was awarded a membership certificate in "The World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan (WOSCU)".
